IŽve played with hex editor for some time and  now i can see text in the picture. I put it in the adress line but it doesnť work... Need help!

Ah...  My browser appears to be displaying the text file as a jpeg image...  How am I supposed to download it?

That, and the contents of the other file appear to be corrupted when i download it.

save it as jpeg and then open it with notepad

Ah I can open the JPG in the hex editor and see all the stuff.  I know I have to replace the stuff with the second file, but...  There's nothing in the second file...  I tried opening it and it said it was invalid or corrupted so I tried opening it in notepad and all I got was weird characters that looked somewhat korean or japanese.

Well obviously, I'm getting the notion the file is supposed to be corrupted...  Time to see what else I can randomly put together.  Well, here goes nothing.

ok, I'm pretty sure I know what to do and how to do it but everytime I do do it, it doesn't work. Can I maybe PM somebody and tell them what i have done and see if I am missing some crucial step or, if I am doing it completely wrong, maybe give me a nudge in the right direction?

One of the few levels concentrating on "engineering" rather than logic. It was refreshing, but could be irritating for ordinary PC user.

I'm having trouble with using the hex editor, i combined the 2 files as i saw fit and copied their text into the hex editor... now I have no idea what to do. Do i save the hex editor file and open it somewhere else?!?!? I am totally lost. Please help

1. Any s***** c*** transfer should be done IN hex editor.
2. think of what file are you trying to get

Ok, I got the needed files, and saved them into a document of Hex read-able kind. THen opened them on hex. The codes opened nice and pretty. Then as instructed I did the addition required and saved it. Didn't make itself into the file type I need to complete the operation... what am I doing wrong?

1. - you dont have to edit anything before running Hex
2. - you dont change the extension by editing s***** c***

-__-U sorry, but I'm not that versed on reading inside censored...
I just think it's sad to get his far on two days and get stuck for lacking the knowledge on using programs like Hex editor...

And I didn't -edit- the files. I just opened on a different kind of file so Hex can open them.
I just don't know other way... The tutorials haven't helped much. They actually were the ones that said Hex only reads files of the .*** kind

Hex editor can read the files as they are.
It is not a hard program to use (though I agree this made the level pretty unconvinient)

It seems you get the point, just try to figure out how to combine the files correctly, also seek my previous posts.
Btw. the file type of the final file can be changed outside Hex editor as well. Remember what you seek !

Well it seems I get the right image now. But... it's the exact thing I got on the downloading .j** file... I feel something's slipping...
